track days read, not portions

Yesterday, I read ahead of schedule, and it checked the boxes for the next 2 days and now today it bubbled in the yellow dot for 3 days from now. I'm reading according to time, not amount. Would it be possible to track the days I actually read - not just that I read, at some point, the portions assigned to those days?

I'd like to see a separation of "days I read" and "reading portion" also - to make it more similar to Duolingo's streak counter and lesson timeline. Perhaps then the days of the week for reminders could be editable without affecting the reading portions.

I would like to see this, too. I am behind on my reading schedule, and so the calendar is misleading now. It also feels a little disheartening. It says I read on days that I did not; and since the calendar is set to today's date, I have to scroll back to see the week where the dots are lit (which reminds me how far behind I am). It seems like the dots are functioning more like a "checklist for portions" than indicators on a calendar. I wouldn't mind seeing a checklist for portions, but I don't understand why there's a calendar there, if it doesn't actually have anything to do with when I am reading.

Laura Wilde, for the current release, the design is for the bubble to reflect the assigned portion and NOT when you've actually logged the reading. There are pros and cons for either approach and people may prefer one or the other. We will consider more user feedback related to this for a future release. For now, we just encourage you to keep reading on your assigned days to build a habit, regardless of whether you are ahead or behind according to the dots.
