Schedules disappeared and won’t come back.

I was limit testing the app, creating 3 schedules 1) regular 2 LS/week 2) 50 LS/week 3) 240min/day. I was “reading ahead” on schedule 2 at got to around message 13 of Genesis. Then I edited the schedule to be 240 min/day. I kept “reading” until message 17, until the bottom said “you have completed your Genesis schedule.” App froze and I closed it. When I opened again all the schedules were gone and it says create a new schedule. “Maybe I exceeded the number of days ahead?”

Samuel Swei are you able to try out the latest beta build 336 for version 2 to see if you are having similar or other issues? Instructions can be found on https://500lifestudies.org/beta . Thank you!

DC hi I was playing around with the app. It’s very well put together. It’s definitely a LOT smoother than before, very impressive. I think the only very very minor thing I found was when scrolling through a really long portion with multiple messages, if I reach a benchmark (10 messages, 25, messages, 50 messages) the app will try to display the “?badge” and instead crash. It’s no big deal though because amazingly my progress is still saved, but that was the only issue I found so far.

I guess I found one way to consistently crash the app. If you set a schedule for the max messages per week (14) and only read one day a week (Friday), then pick a book with long messages (like Genesis). You can run the schedule, scroll all the way down the 14 messages of Genesis, but once at the bottom, the app freezes and crashes once you try to do anything like save progress, read more, or go back to the home page. Probably a memory issue?
DC
Samuel Swei thanks for reporting this! To confirm, you mean scrolling down the 14 messages within the in-app reader right? And NOT in Edit Progress right?
Samuel Swei
DCyes in app, not with editing progress
DC
Samuel Swei, could you please test this on beta v6 (build 1322) released on Feb 25, 2023 and report back if this issue has been resolved for you? Thanks!
Samuel Swei
DC: so when I set the reading schedule to 14 Life-studies per week, and then read shorter books like Habakkuk, Malachi, and Haggai, then a longer book Matthew, it is able to load the short minor prophet Life-studies as well as the 14 messages in Matthew. I can even record and save up to message 14 of Matthew. However, then when I try to read more in Matthew the the app crashes and my schedule becomes unusable again where I have to start a new schedule.
DC
Samuel Swei: can you please confirm that you are testing build 1322 and share your exact schedule and repro steps? Also is this on iOS or Android? Thank you!
SL
Hi Samuel Swei, would you be able to repeat any of these tests on beta v5 and see if you still experience any specific problems, or if they have been resolved?
Please note that the ability to edit WPM has been removed for now, in beta v5.
Samuel Swei
SL: yeah sure let me play around a bit.

Oh I also messed around with the WPM in my “50messages a week/240min/day schedule” shifting from 250->500->100. I would get a lot of error messages when I tried to start a new message at the bottom.
SL
Samuel Swei: We are investigating these, thank you for reporting them!
- Do you recall how many days in the week you had selected for these tests?
- When you say "a lot of error messages" at the bottom, do you mean "Save Error" messages?
Thanks again!
Samuel Swei
SL:
I selected Monday only, but kept “reading ahead.”
I actually don’t recall what the error messages were. Maybe they were save error?
I don’t know for sure but it seemed the issues started happening when I kept adjusting the wpm and getting the error messages.
SL
Samuel Swei: Thank you, that is very helpful! And did you notice the app was running unusually slow at any point during this particular test?
Samuel Swei
SL: oh yeah the app would freeze and my phone would start heating up as well.
SL
Samuel Swei: Thank you!
Samuel Swei
SL: Hi,
So I’ve been testing the app this past week and though there are some performance issues when you set your weekly reading schedule >20, the app works pretty well, I like that the app keeps track of what messages I’ve read separately from my schedule. The only crash I found was when I set my weekly reading to 20 messages and then read two shorter books (e.g. Haggai and Malachi) then following up with a longer book (Matthew). When I get to Matthew it tries to generate the life studies on the app, but eventually the schedule/app crashes and I am now unable to use the schedule anymore forcing me to delete the schedule.

Thanks Samuel Swei, very useful.
